To encourage and foster public education in the breeding of purebred Basset Hounds according to the American Kennel Club Breed Standard and in keeping with the stated aims of the Basset Hound Club of America.
To protect and advance the interest of Basset Hounds in the ring and in the field by promoting and conducting specialty shows, tracking tests, obedience and field trials under the rules and regulations of the American Kennel Club.
